VISION
“LAYING A GODLY AND INTELLECTUAL FOUNDATION FOR A CHILD.”
MOTO
“EDUCATION, A MILESTONE TO SUCCESS”
MISSION STATEMENT
A Ministry Of Encouragement And Empowerment To Society Through Deliberate Holistic Educational Strategies.
WHO WE ARE
St. Barnabas Christian Academy is a fast growing Christian school that is registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Patents and Companies Registration Agency (PACRA) in Zambia. The name “Barnabas” means “Son of Encouragement”. This is defined in the Bible as recorded in Acts 4: 36. As the name implies, St. Barnabas Christian Academy is basically a ministry or service to society that uplifts standards of living, encourage the maginalized, and empower the less privileged; providing education, job creation, humanitarian aid, e.t.c. We embrace people / children from different faiths and we don’t discriminate those with different faiths / religious views. The institution is based in Ndola City, Copper-belt Province, Zambia.
HOW WE BEGUN
Dr. Barney Mulenga is the President / Founder of St. Barnabas Christian Academy, which opened its doors on 9th September, 2012. After 16 years of serving the community and empowering people through a ministry called Bible Way Ministries, which was only focused on spiritual matters, which according to the time was not able to meet the growing needs of society, Dr. Barney embarked on a project that was going to meet the growing needs of the community which were beyond spiritual needs. God gave him a burden to establish an educational institution which eventually would contribute to society in providing employment to the many unemployed youths and other members of the community, teach strong biblical values while providing education from Kindergarten to tertiary level in various disciplines.
In 2012, this vision became a reality as he resolved to start with what was available at the time. The school started from within the Church premises with only 4 children. Currently, Kindergarten to Grade Seven has been established with over 700 children in the institution. Orphans are already benefiting as they are getting free education.
Dr. Barney Mulenga is also the President, Founder, and General Overseer of Bible way Ministries international, a church he founded in 1996 and has been the Senior Pastor up to date. St. Barnabas Christian Academy’s main objective is to uplift standards, encourage the maginalised, empower the less privileged, and to provide quality education. We have two campuses and the physical addresses are: Villa Campus: Plot number 4139, Mwanawasa Road, Ndola Villa; and Pamodzi Campus: Plot number 61220, Chifubu / Kawama Road, Pamodzi, Ndola..
The school has created job opportunities and has employed 54 members of staff. This means that 54 families have been impacted positively. St Barnabas Christian Academy is making a positive impact in the community through education, job creation, and humanitarian aid.
WHY WE EXIST
The establishment of St. Barnabas Christin Academy was, on the other hand, prompted by a number of challenges faced by government / public institutions ranging from:
Despite the great efforts to expand and improve the education system by the government through educational reforms, it has not been possible to meet the steadily rising demand for its services.
Private schools are in a better position to supplement government efforts and provide a solution to this problem. Therefore, St. Barnabas Academy aims at creating a favourable, effective, productive educational atmosphere.
We have a strong desire to positively change lives, society, and the world through education. We have a passion to add value and to meet society’s educational, spiritual, and physical needs. Furthermore, we have a passion to make a difference in the lives of the vulnerable and under privileged through humanitarian aid, i.e. empowerment of widows and the aged, and orphans in terms of entrepreneurship and educational support programs.
EXCHANGE PROGRAM FOR TEACHERS & STUDENTS
The school has an open policy of exchange programs for teachers and students from across the globe. This allows for an opportunity to provide a rare and much needed student and teacher cross-cultural exchange. For schools that have an interest in sending their students or teachers to experience educational, cultural clout in an African setting, St. Barnabas Christian Academy is the place to be.

FUTURE PLANS
We have plans to continue expanding and one of the future expansion projects is to establish a secondary school and a university college. This is in line with another level of our vision to empower society through education. In preparation for this project we are sending our staff to various universities to pursue some studies in different fields so that once they graduate they will become lecturers at our university college in the near future. In this regard, we also looking for possibilities of scholarships for our staff, to enable them to manage the requirements at universities where they be admitted.
Below are courses which will be offered at our future University College:

FURTHERMORE, THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH / MINISTRY IS TO CARRY OUT AND FULFILL THE GREAT COMMISSION SO AS TO REACH THE LOST WITH THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, HENCE LEADING THEM TO SALVATION.
INTRODUCTION

MINISTRY OBLIGATIONS
DEPARTMENTS
OUR CORE VALUES
OUTREACH PROGRAM
Bible way Ministries is a growing Church / Ministry that is fulfilling the Great Commission by training and equipping saints and discipling communities, in readiness for the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, as well as engaging in community transformation, development and revitalization by showing concern over the plight of the vulnerable in society through empowerment and humanitarian aid programs.
As we journey on this life pathway, we see sign posts we cannot ignore – a widow in a pensive mood, an orphan without hope for the future; a single mother full of regret, a person living with HIV / AIDS contemplating suicide, and a malnourished child hanging on to dear life.
We are compelled to stop and ask ourselves, what can we do? Indeed what can you, as a part of human society, do? As a Church / Ministry we strive to serve and achieve the following objectives:
COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES
BENEFICIERIES
ORPHANS
Orphans are one category of children living in especially difficult conditions due to the impact of the AIDS pandemic upon the adult population.
It is estimated that there are more than 25, 000 orphans in the City of Ndola. Country wide (in Zambia) there are more than 1, 000, 000 orphans, with more being at risk.
As a Church we have an obligation to address the problem of orphans and homeless children, and also children with disabilities. We have more than 200 orphans enlisted on the project; all these are in dire need.
WIDOWS
The death of a husband is a great tragedy. In societies like ours in particular, it is a disaster given the prevailing economic crisis in the country.
In most cases, while men are alive and earning some income, they are unable to save or invest for the future due to insufficient emoluments. It is usually difficult to save under hand to mouth situation. As a result, women and children become destitute overnight when men die.
We have enlisted more than100 widows in desperate situations within our community.
SINGLE MOTHERS
Single mothers, like divorcees and widows are one category of people found at the crossroads of social disorder and economic dysfunction. The problem of teenage pregnancies often lead to young unmarried girls being involved in acts of abortion, baby dumping, especially when the person responsible for their pregnancy denies responsibility. The fear of rejection by the family further places them in a precarious position of desperation and vulnerability to further exploitation and a life of regret.
PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV / AIDS
Single mothers, divorcees, and widows are also found in this category of PLWHA. Apart from being single, divorced, widowed, some women have also to contend with the issue of living with HIV / AIDS. For fear of being stigmatized and discriminated against, many would rather not disclose their status preferring to remain incognito. We have 30 PLWHA in our project. Some are already experiencing the debilitating effects of AIDS in its advanced stage.
WOMEN IN DIFFICULT CIRCUMSTANCES
The problem of women in difficult circumstances cannot be overstated. As prices of commodities like fuel, continue escalating and pushing the cost of living higher, more and more women are resorting to degrading practices like transactional sex as a means of survival. Often this done at the risk of contracting HIV.
OUR COMMITMENT AS BIBLE WAY MINISTRIES
The Bible, God’s Word, is fundamental to our relationship with God and all that we do.
We affirm that the Gospel of Jesus Christ demonstrates concern for spiritual, physical, social, mental, economic, and emotional wellbeing of people. We shall work towards holistic change in our community.
We affirm the work of each individual, especially those men and women, girls and boys who live in impoverished conditions whatever their gender, ethnicity, race, religion, or social status.
We shall respect, listen, learn from, serve and empower the needy to meet their basic needs, to overcome injustice and to help them to maximise their God given potential so that they fulfill God’s purpose for their life.
We are committed to learning from others, sharing with them and making appropriate changes.
We are accountable to God, to our supporters, partners, and to the under-privileged. We are committed to being honest and transparent in all we do. We are committed to making what we do consistent with what we say. We work towards establishing effective management structures and efficient use of resources.
